When you first see it aglow with its fine intricacies, it may not show, but the Wildflower collection started its path to existence thanks to Mary V. Walcotts Oconee-Bells discovered in the Smithsonian Libraries and Archives Special Collections. Taking center stage is a touch of Danish modern on top of midcentury. Wildflower combines delicate, handmade ice glass flower petals, with equally delicate wispy hand-forged and recycled steel tubing and metal work. Available in gold or black.

Around the weekend, our routine becomes slower and a little less structured; we settled on this chandelier to give the room a more settled center, and the change felt natural almost immediately. It works just as naturally on a normal Tuesday as it does when we have people over. It has been part of family dinners, quiet evenings, and the usual mess of normal life. The longer we live with it, the more certain I am that it was the right direction.

Toward Wednesday the end of the night, the house feels quieter; I went with this chandelier to give the room more presence without making it formal, and the room feels better for it. A few weeks of normal use made me like the room more than I did on day one. It has been easy to live with on ordinary days.

During Friday the evening, the room usually feels fully lived in; we selected this chandelier to finish a space that had always felt incomplete, and it worked into everyday life more easily than I expected. It has quietly become part of the way the room feels at the end of the day. I notice the difference most when the room is actually being used.
