Personally, I appreciate that the dining room centerpiece makes the eat-in kitchen look finished but not overly styled. It gives the space some presence while still feeling easy to live with. I rearranged the surrounding furniture once before I was completely happy with the setup.

From across the dining room, the dining room centerpiece gives the space a much better sense of balance.

The longer it stays in the open dining area, the more natural this dining table feels with everything around it. I have already stopped thinking of it as the new piece, which is probably the best compliment. It has made everyday meals feel a little more special. The choice felt a bit more grown-up than what we had before, without making the house feel formal. No regrets on this one.
