For the living area, this credenza turned out to be a better fit than the more elaborate options I considered. What surprised me was how easy it was to keep the room feeling relaxed around it, especially when friends are over.

For the mood we wanted in my main dining space, there is more cohesion in the room now, and it happened as soon as this piece went into place. It gives the dining space a stronger sense of balance. It helped the dining area feel like a complete room rather than just a table and chairs. The surrounding furniture feels less random now that this piece is part of my main dining space. What surprised me was how much more intentional the room felt from the doorway, especially with the rest of our furniture around it. This ended up being exactly the kind of update my main dining space needed.
