On slow weekends, I notice the foyer area more than the fixture itself. The space still feels relaxed on ordinary days, and that was the main goal. The room feels good both when it is quiet and when it is full of people, which is when I know the choice was practical as well as visual. Our foyer area has a stronger center without feeling overdone with this lantern pendant in place. It works with the rest of the space instead of competing with it, which is exactly what I hoped would happen. On weekends I notice it most when everyone stays in the room a little longer, which is when I know the choice was practical as well as visual. It has been there for coffee, takeout, long conversations, and the usual mess of normal life, and that is what makes it feel like part of the house. I like it more now than I did when I first ordered it.
