Our room we use most in the evening looks more complete with this pendant light in place.

The part of the kitchen everyone passes through feels less unfinished now that this pendant light is part of it.

Simple weeknight dinner, this part of the house feels more complete with the pendant light worked into the room we use most in the evening. The space feels more settled now without losing its casual feel, which is exactly what I hoped would happen. It has been there for coffee, takeout, long conversations, and the usual mess of normal life, which is exactly how I want everyday furniture and lighting to behave.
