Around the first holiday in the new house, we added this pendant light, and it gave the space the lived-in feeling I wanted. Because the update happened around moving into the new place, it became one of the details I associate with the house starting to feel settled.

Weeknight the evening wind-down is when this pendant light feels least like a new purchase and most like part of the gathering space. It works just as naturally on a normal weekday as it does when we have people over, and the room never feels too formal to use.

Casual coffee before work, what looked like a design decision on paper now feels like a normal part of the room we use most in the evening.

Late a no-plan evening is when this pendant light feels most natural in the kitchen area. It has already been part of rushed mornings, weeknight meals, and plenty of ordinary evenings. It feels at home in the room rather than like something added just for show, which is exactly what I hoped would happen. It has been there for coffee, takeout, long conversations, and the usual mess of normal life, which is probably the best compliment I can give it.
