Having people over changed my opinion more than the first day did; when we hosted a small gathering, the space felt comfortable even with everyone moving around. I understood the update better once relatives came over for a weekend meal, because nobody treated the room like it was too formal to use. It has already been part of rushed mornings, weeknight meals, and plenty of ordinary evenings, and the room never feels too formal to use.

Low-key a small gathering, the kitchen area looks more resolved now that this pendant light is part of it. It has been there for coffee, takeout, long conversations, and the usual mess of normal life, which is probably the best compliment I can give it. The everyday routine has been a better test than any first impression, and that balance feels very real to us. The space makes more sense as a whole now, without making the room feel overly designed.
