Quiet a quick breakfast, we wanted the gathering space to work on ordinary days as well as when people come over, and this pendant light fits that goal. The space still feels relaxed on ordinary days, without making the room feel overly designed. The longer we live with it, the more certain I am that it was the right direction.

Saturday a long conversation is when this pendant light feels most natural in the room we use most in the evening. The effect feels subtle in daily life, which is part of why I like it, and the room still feels comfortable when it is a little messy.

Simple dessert and coffee, the change is not dramatic; the entry area simply feels more welcoming with this pendant light there. It took a little trial and error to decide how the rest of the room should sit around it, but I would still choose it again.
