What changed is not one dramatic detail; the dining area simply feels more intentional with this multi-light pendant in place. I had specifically been looking at a Multi Light Pendant version.

The part I notice most about this multi-light pendant is how naturally it fits the way we live. It works just as naturally on a normal weekday as it does when we have people over, and that balance feels very real to us. Once the room was back in normal use, everyone in the house was more excited about the update than I expected. The room feels finished without becoming formal.
