The change is not dramatic; the entry area simply makes more sense as a whole with this pendant light there. The LED version was the one I had been looking for.

Dinner-time a relaxed evening, the first few days I noticed the newness; now this pendant light simply feels at home in the room.

Our breakfast area made the most sense once a couple of friends stopped by unexpectedly; people naturally stayed in the room longer. It has quietly become part of the way the room feels at the end of the day, which is probably the best compliment I can give it. The room felt most convincing when friends came over for dinner; the room still felt relaxed even when it was full. The room now feels considered without feeling staged, which makes the update feel more convincing. I pictured the room a little differently at first, but the final setup grew on me quickly.
